This track was written in 1994, and was actually recorded as a demo for my band The Wounded Meadow, and we even played it live on one occasion. This is a re-recordings, quite faithful to the original (lost) demo.
lyrics
Mummy did the dishes
Father read the sunday paper
It's a perfect day and the sun was shining
And I made my way across the floor, crawling like a snake
I could be anything
A living room dream
Mummy planted flowers
Daddy was washing his car
And I was amused to see the water run
Watching it meander down the street
On days like these I could be anything
A spring sun dream
And at the end of the street
There was a great green field
And at the end of it was a forest
And she said "That is the place where noone goes"
Mommy shouted "Sophie where are you?
You've got to come inside
Sophie dear, you're going to catch a cold"
Sophie wouldn't listen, and she hid under a balcony
And she felt to warm, and the felt real safe
And at the end of the street
There was a great green field
And at the end of it was a forest
And she said "That is the place where noone goes"
